- In 2008, the World Health Organization adopted a Sweden-backed global alcohol resolution at its annual World Health Assembly. The strategy will include ways to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol through such measures as anti-drinking campaigns and an examination of the marketing of alcohol, licensing regulations, and pricing.
- In 2007, the Swedish Brewers Association recommended to its members to put text on beer with an alcohol percentage more than 2.25% to highlight that consumption of alcoholic beverages ‘may be inappropriate under certain conditions.’
