FASD Diagnosis and Intervention Programs

Eight subcontractors are funded to screen and diagnose children receiving services in a range of local, state, and juvenile court programs to provide them with needed interventions. Programs are targeting children 0-5 years of age based on research that shows that early diagnosis of an FASD can make a significant difference in children’s lives (Streissguth et al, 2004). Funding is intended to build the subcontractors’ FASD screening, diagnosis, and intervention capabilities, document their activities, and evaluate the effects.
